Veterinary Technician DischargeNurse

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of aveterinary nurse (vet tech) to work in our patient discharge department, discharging patients from all services.

The ideal candidate possesses the ability to effectivelyperform venipuncture andTPRs,interact and communicate clearly with clients, andis comfortableworking with a variety of Specialty Departments including Emergency Services.

* A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a Nurse is required.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The schedule we are hiring for are: Monday through Thursday10am 8pm.

Daily responsibilities and job requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medications and disease processes
  • Knowledge and ability to describe common diseases,procedures and surgical processes, treatments, complicationsand follow-up care
  • Perform discharges of patients to clients
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Communicate with clients and team members (verbally and written)
  • Attention to detail and a calm demeanor required
  • Ability to work independently at times, focus, prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, environment
